The Initiative was launched in response to the progress made by the Greater Donnelly communities in North Trenton and because funding for the "seeding" portion of the federal program was substantially cut in 2008 (these lost funds had been allocated to establish human services programs in the community following the "weeding" of crime)

100% of all solicited funds directly support community revival, focusing first on human service  programs for children and their families in this North Trenton community.  Current donations will be used to pay for part-time supervisors for out-of--school programs for children and teenagers with no place else to go, because help is needed to coordinate mentors, volunteers and tutors and manage the sites as more and more children seek to participate, and for equipment and supplies for the gang-resistance, after-school and other programs.

Team Hope is a boxing and life-skills program serving needy and troubled youth through mentoring, tutoring and gang-resistance coaching, all directed to building community citizens, individual strengths, and Hope.  The Team voted to give back to the community and chose Parkinson's disease as the cause they are fighting for, raising donations for the Parkinson's Foundation
