The Greater Donnelly Initiative, Inc.
Greater Donnelly means the neighborhoods in and around Donnelly Homes and Greater Donnelly means hope for a greater tomorrow
We gratefully acknowledge the special contributions of the following amazing individuals and organizations:
Graduate students in the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University who volunteer their time to tutor and mentor children in the Initiative's Off-the-Street programs. They organized and launched a successful benefit on December 15, raising much-needed funds to help sustain the Initiative's programs, and providing our principal support as we look forward to a New Year. A special thanks to Kim Bonner, Katie DiSalvo, the team of Volunteers and the Businesses and Donors who not only made generous contributions but gave so much of their time and talent to support the children in Greater Donnelly. Two recent graduates, Frank Norcross and YuhWenLing have funded and launched Donnelly BikeWorks , which was an important part of this summer's program, providing camp and community participants with training in bike repair and life skills, modeled after a successful program in which YuhWen participated in Chicago, Blackstone Bike Works. The City of Trenton which despite the severe economic environment has elected to continue to support the Weed and Seed strategy for the children of the Greater Donnelly and other under-served communities, and which provides space at Fell Street and N Clinton for Greater Donnelly off-the-streets programs and the Greater Donnelly food pantry
The Trenton Housing Authority which supplies space and security for the Choices program, and much-needed van transportation for special program needs, as well as the use of the computer learning center and support of the food pantry.
The Princeton Area Community Foundation which has provided a sustaining grant and warm support for the Bike Works and gang-resistance programs
The Mercer Street Friends Food Bank and Shop Rite who provide food for the Greater Donnelly Food Pantry, which currently has over 600 client-visits per month.
The Staff of Princeton Blairstown have been consistent friends and generous supporters of the Pantry and the community.
The Police Explorers and especially Luis Medina who gave so much to the children and teenagers in Trenton.
Our amazing community volunteers who keep everything going
